To enroll in DeWitt Schools, you must reside within
district boundaries or be able to attend
according to board policy.
NOTE: If you reside outside of the district, you must be approved for School of Choice prior to enrolling. Visit our School of Choice webpage for more details.
PRIOR TO ONLINE REGISTRATION, READ THESE DOCUMENTS WITH YOUR STUDENT: You will acknowledge that you have read these documents during registration. Scroll down to find the documents below.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO UPLOAD TO YOUR ONLINE REGISTRATION NOTE: Once you submit your registration, you won't be able to upload any additional documentation. Any outstanding items can be provided to the District Registrar via fax, email or in person.
Certified Birth Certificate - original must be viewed by Board of Education staff prior to the start of school.
Residency proofs - Two proofs are required. One MUST be a utility bill, property tax info or lease.
Immunization Record*- Certified by an immunization provider or local health department
Custody/Guardianship court document, if applicable
Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan, if applicable
Medical forms*, if action is required at school (forms can be found under District Forms)
Kindergarten/Young 5s/1st graders: Hearing, Vision and Dental assessment documentation. If your medical provider or PreK program hasn't completed the necessary assessments, you can sign up for a free assessment appointment (May 15) through Sign Up Genius
Grades 6-8: Complete the Middle School registration form and email to enrollment@dewittschools.net
Grades 9-12: Complete the High School Course Request and email to enrollment@dewittschools.net
Grades 10-12: Transcript from the previous school/s attended
ONLINE REGISTRATION TIPS
View the “How to Register Your Student Online” video.
Chrome or Firefox browsers work best for the online registration process.
Use the appropriate button to the right (New Family or Existing Family with new student) to begin.
Note your application/confirmation number in case you wish to save and finish at a later time. If you forget your application number, contact the District Registrar. Please do not start another application.
Utilize NEXT and SAVE/CONTINUE to move through the application. Complete all information, including uploads if you have them.
Once complete, be sure to click the SUBMIT button. Your application will be reviewed by staff and you will receive notification of your enrollment status.
If you require access to a computer or need assistance uploading documents, stop in the
Board of Education Office with the documents and staff will assist you.

Kindergarten / Young 5 Information
ONLINE REGISTRATION DUE DATES:
Young 5 registrations should be submitted by MAY 1 to be considered for placement through the selection process. This is NOT a first come, first serve program. Families will be notified of selection early June 2024.
Kindergarten submissions should be received prior to JUNE 1.
SCHOOL OF CHOICE - If you are a non-resident and interested in applying for School of Choice, you must be accepted into the program PRIOR to enrolling. Please visit DeWitt Public Schools School of Choice website (dewittschools.net/enrollment/school-of-choice) for the latest information. Openings for the 2024-2025 school year will be announced late April 2024.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17 PARENT MEETING (6pm-7pm) for incoming Young 5/Kindergarteners at Schavey Road Elementary: Come learn more about Schavey Road, the Young Five and Kindergarten programs and preparing your child for the upcoming school year. Collection of required enrollment documents and support for the DPS online registration will also be available.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 15 - SCHEDULE HEARING, VISION AND DENTAL ASSESSMENTS, if needed. These assessments are required prior to starting school for all incoming Kindergarten/Young 5 students. Free appointments can be scheduled by using the Sign Up Genius link (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/904084BAEAE22A0FC1-47344196-hearing) or calling 517.668.3017.
EARLY AUGUST, PARENT PORTAL INFORMATION FOR NEW FAMILIES: Infinite Campus new parent portal set up will be emailed. The parent portal is an online tool where parents can find school related information for their child/ren. Bus schedule, teacher/schedule assignments and login information for the network are all available. In addition, grades and report cards also be posted in the portal. NOTE: Students will receive their own login information the first week of school.
NOTE: The portal will open mid to late August for 2024-25 school year information ie. schedules/teacher, transportation info.
