Award-winning DeWitt Public Schools participates in the Schools of Choice Program 105/105c.
2020-2021 Schools of Choice dates are as follows:
Schools of Choice applications will be accepted during a 15-day period from Tuesday, May 26, 2020 through Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
Applications will be accepted for limited openings in grades Kindergarten through 8th.
School of Choice is not available for grades 9th through 12th. See the Tuition Enrollment information below for high school.
Where may I obtain an application? Applications will be available only during the 15-day application period. Applications will be available on our District website or may be picked up at our administrative office at 2957 W. Herbison Road, DeWitt, MI 48820 (Door #16). The administrative office is open by appointment only.
When will I know if my child has been accepted to attend DeWitt Public Schools? Notification letters will be mailed to families the week of July 13, 2020. Schools of Choice drawing will be on Thursday, July 9, 2020.
Are siblings guaranteed enrollment in future years? No. Any siblings of enrolled Schools of Choice students , must complete a Schools of Choice application during the SOC application window to be considered for enrollment. Siblings are given preference for available advertised openings, however, not guaranteed. If you have are planning to enroll a SOC sibling for the 2020-2021 school year, please contact Deb Smith as soon as possible at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who provides transportation? Parents are responsible for transportation to and from our district.

*DeWitt High School does accept students on tuition. Applications are available below on this website or at the Board of Education office. To qualify for admission under tuition, students must demonstrate a solid record of attendance, discipline, and academics. Students must also obtain a release from their resident district and pay the $1.00 tuition fee upon enrollment. Please call 517-668-3000 for more information.
