Herbison Woods Principal

Dear Herbison Woods Families,

Today the fourth graders from Scott Elementary were able to visit Herbision Woods to tour the building and meet the teachers and staff that they will see next year. They were also able to meet Mrs. Vicky Milner who will be the principal at Herbison Woods next year. I am very excited to officially announce Mrs. Milner's new position and welcome her to Herbison Woods.

Mrs. Milner, who currently is the assistant principal at DeWitt Junior High School, is a graduate of Central Michigan University and she holds a master's degree from Michigan State. She is currently furthering her education at MSU as she works towards her administrative certification. Mrs. Milner has 22 years of experience in education including over 19 years of teaching in DeWitt. Mrs. Milner has taught special education, kindergarten, multi-age classes, and single gender classes. She has sought challenges and new experiences her entire career and she has excelled every step of the way. In 2010-11 she took over as the interim principal at Fuerstenau Early Childhood Center and she has been the assistant principal and athletic director at DeWitt Junior High School this past year.

Mrs. Milner is an excellent communicator and she is very professional. I think you will also find that she is very approachable and obviously very passionate about meeting the needs of students. She will be a great fit for the students, staff, and families at Herbison Woods. I hope that you will help me welcome Mrs. Milner to Herbison Woods. She is excited for her new opportunity and she is looking forward to the new school year.

Have a great summer.

Sincerely,

John Deiter, Ph.D., Superintendent
