DeWitt Public Schools has implemented an evaluation system adopted on August 28, 2012, that meets the following statutory requirements outlined in MCL 380.1249:
Most significant portion is based on student growth and assessment data.
Uses research based measures to determine student growth.
Determines professional competence through multiple direct observations.
Teacher effectiveness and ratings, as measured by student achievement and growth data, are factored into teacher retention, promotion and termination decisions.
Teacher and school administrator results are used to inform teacher professional development for the succeeding year.
Ensures that teachers and administrators are evaluated annually.
