DeWitt Public Schools has implemented an evaluation system adopted on August 28, 2012, that meets the following statutory requirements outlined in MCL 380.1249:

• Most significant portion is based on student growth and assessment data.
• Uses research based measures to determine student growth.
• Determines professional competence through multiple direct observations.
• Teacher effectiveness and ratings, as measured by student achievement and growth data, are factored into teacher retention, promotion and termination decisions.
• Teacher and school administrator results are used to inform teacher professional development for the succeeding year.
• Ensures that teachers and administrators are evaluated annually.
